Russell Brand was accused of raping, sexually assaulting and abusing four women over the course of seven years — and one victim was a 16-year-old he allegedly called “the child,” according to a bombshell report the British actor and comedian denied prior to its release.
The allegations against the 48-year-old stem from the height of his fame between 2006 and 2013, according to a joint investigation published Saturday by The Sunday Times of London, the Times of London and Channel 4 Dispatches.
One woman, identified as “Nadia,” alleged the “Get Him to the Greek” star raped her against the wall of his Los Angeles home in 2012 and was treated at a rape crisis center the same day, according to medical records cited by the outlets.
The woman later told Brand that she had been scared and felt taken advantage of, telling him, “When a girl [says] NO, it means no” — to which he responded he was “very sorry,” text messages cited by the report show.
Another accuser who was 16 at the time alleged that the then-31-year-old called her “the child” and assaulted her during their “emotionally abusive and controlling” three-month relationship, according to the report.
The woman — who is known only by the pseudonym “Alice” and was above the age of consent in the UK — said Brand was “grooming” her, an allegation a relative backed up to the Sunday Times during its investigation.
Alice said he told her to read Vladimir Nabokov’s salacious “Lolita,” save his number in her phone under the name “Carly” and even gave her “scripts” to lie to her parents.
“It was isolating,” she told the outlet.
Brand allegedly even sent a car to take Alice out of school and to his home, she said. On one occasion, his driver told her not to go into the comedian’s home.
“‘Please. I’m asking you not to go in there. You could be my little girl, and I would want someone to do this for her,” Alice recalled the chauffer saying.
Alice also accused Brand of once making her choke when he “forced his penis down her throat” and she allegedly punched him in the stomach to get him to stop.
‘Like the devil’
Allegations from Brand’s other accusers included a woman who claimed he sexually assaulted her at his property in West Hollywood after they met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, according to the Times of London.
The woman, identified as “Phoebe,” said at one point she realized other staff left and she was alone with Brand.
Russell Brand sexual assault allegations
Brand was accused of raping, sexually assaulting and abusing four women over the course of seven years from 2006 to 2013.
- One woman, identified as “Nadia,” alleged the “Get Him to the Greek” star raped her against the wall of his Los Angeles home in 2012 and that she was treated at a rape crisis center the same day, according to medical records cited by news outlets.
- Another accuser, who was 16 at the time and is known only by the pseudonym “Alice,” alleged the then-31-year-old called her “the child” and assaulted her during their “emotionally abusive and controlling” three-month relationship, according to the report.
- A woman identified as “Phoebe” claimed he sexually assaulted her at his property in West Hollywood after they met at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, according to the Times of London. Brand allegedly trapped her in a bedroom and chased her around before pinning her down and assaulting her.
- The star’s ex-girlfriend Jordan Martin made similar accusations in her self-published 2014 book “kNot: Entanglement with a Celebrity.” She claims he sexually assaulted her at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, England, after becoming angry that she had spoken to an ex-boyfriend in 2007.
- Pop star Dannii Minogue angrily labeled Brand a “vile predator” as far back as 2006 — accusing him of creeping her out by perving over her “fabulous breasts” and refusing to “take no for an answer.”
Brand denied the allegations in a video on YouTube and X, formerly Twitter, alerting fans to “serious criminal” allegations that he said would be made against him.
“Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute,” Branded shared. “The relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.”
While the investigation proceeds, YouTube has suspended Brand from making money on the video streaming site, his pub “Crown Inn,” located in Pishill, Britain, has been temporarily shut down and BBC has formally launched a review into the comedian’s time at the network.
She realized Brand wanted to have sex with her and eventually trapped her in a bedroom and chased her around before pinning her down and assaulting her.
“I saw something come over his eyes, I swear to God, like, black, his eyes had no more color, they were black, like the devil,” she recalled to the outlet. “Like a different person literally entered his body.”
“I think he had his hands down my trousers but I was fighting so hard and I was screaming so hard, hoping that I could get through somehow,” she continued, “I don’t know what the actual definition of ‘sexual assault’ is, but it feels like that. He didn’t rape me.”
The star became “super angry” but eventually stopped.
Brand’s ex-girlfriend Jordan Martin, made similar accusations in her self-published 2014 book “kNot: Entanglement with a Celebrity.” She claims he sexually assaulted her at the Lowry Hotel in Manchester, England, after becoming angry that she had spoken to an ex-boyfriend.
Martin alleged the incident occurred during their six-month relationship that began in February 2007.
‘Coordinated attack’
Brand has incorporated stories of his sex addiction and alleged predatory behavior into his routines for years. He has had relationships with a number of high-profile women, including model Kate Moss, and married to pop star Katy Perry in 2010, but the relationship lasted only 14 months.
He is currently married to second wife Laura Gallacher, the mother of his two children. Gallacher, a writer, erased her Instagram page after news of the allegations emerged Saturday.
Brand would regularly have sex with women he met at events, the damning report claims. Two women he had separate dalliances with said he became threatening when they refused to have sex with him, causing one to leave in tears.
Most of the women who came forward with their stories wanted to remain anonymous in the exposé and a subsequent documentary that will be released Saturday on Channel Four’s Dispatches series.
Brand denied the allegations in a preemptively released video on YouTube and X, formerly Twitter, alerting fans to “serious criminal” allegations that he said would be made against him.
“I have received two extremely disturbing letters, or a letter and an email, one from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper, listing a litany of egregious and aggressive attacks,” he said.
“Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks, are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”
The actor said the allegations stem from a time when he was “very, very promiscuous,” which he said he wrote “about extensively in my books.”
“Now during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual,” he said.
The “Arthur” actor said he believed he was the subject of a “coordinated attack” and he was going to look into the matter because it was “very, very serious.”
‘Some things I cannot talk about’
Brand was met with cheers at his first appearance since the bombshell accusations during his sold-out ” Bipolarisation” show at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre Saturday night showing up an hour late, which he blamed on traffic.
He received rousing applause when he arrived an hour late, which he blamed on traffic, and one fan was seen holding a sign that read, “We stand by you, Russell. Stay Strong. Stay Free. We love you.”
“There’s some things I cannot talk about, and hopefully you appreciate that I’m gonna give you everything I got,” a seemingly unfazed Brand told fans, according to video obtained by the Daily Mail.

When he spotted a man in the audience who looked like him, he said he could be his body double.
“That might come in handy,” he joked.
Meanwhile, the UK television stations that Brand appeared on as he rose to fame are now under pressure to explain how much of the alleged sexual misconduct they were aware of following claims that it was an “open secret” in the industry.
Top politicians said the claims, if true, suggest a potential “exploitation of power” within the industry and suggested the authorities should investigate, the Telegraph reported.
Both Channel 4, where Brand hosted a spin-off of the station’s successful “Big Brother” show, and the BBC, where he headlined a namesake show beginning in 2006, issued statements about the allegations Saturday night.
He was axed from the BBC in 2008 after participating in a lewd on-air phone call with broadcaster and film critic Jonathan Ross to actor Andrew Sachs in which the pair left messages on the “Fawlty Towers” star’s answering machine with comments about Brand’s relationship with his’ granddaughter.
BBC referred to the investigation it conducted following the incident, which resulted in a $160,000 fine.
“The circumstances of the breach were reviewed in detail at the time,” it said, according to the Telegraph. “We hope that demonstrates that the BBC takes issues seriously and is prepared to act.”
Channel 4 said it was “determined to understand the full nature of what went on.”
“Channel 4 is appalled to learn of these deeply troubling allegations, including behavior alleged to have taken place on programs made for Channel 4 between 2004 and 2007,” a spokesman said, according to the Telegraph.
